- Hi.
- Last time I had a problem, you folks on the newsgroup helped get me out
- of a fix. Thanks. I was really surprised by the quality and amount of
- replies I got... unfortunately, it's not over yet. Here's my system:
-
- a2000
- GVP combo '040 16 megs Rip Off Ram
- GURU rom v6.1
- OPAL vision
- Vlab Motion card (haven't used it yet due to this problem)
- Flicker Fixer (not in use currently)
- 120 Meg Quantum (DH0 system drive)
- 200 Meg Maxtor (very dependable)
- GIG NEC (new, worked fine in my DraCo)
-
- I added the gig and the 200 meg at the same time. Everything happy.
- Just to test the gig drive (split into three partitions btw) I set out to
- copy 500 k IFFs to the drive en masse from the 200 meg. The gig would
- often copy one, and then freeze up. It would take a reboot (not mounting
- the gig drive in pre-bootup menu), then a mount once the system was up,
- and a re-format.
- This keeps happening with and number of files from any number of
- different sources. I tried different sets of IFFs, also I tried to copy
- off of a commercially made CD rom (which I know to be perfect). No
- soap. As soon as the computer copies one file (if any), the system
- hangs. Any ideas out there? Thanks for you time.

- Thanks again. I'll try to do somthing nice for you, someday.
